Salut !!

I am writing you guys from the office now. And  I feel lucky . You may ask ”why”? I will explain .

Firstly, while I was coming here I was a little bit concerned about our volunteering program. Before we came here our coordinator told us we will work with children and attend some activities.

So, we didn’t know Romanian and the children didn’t know English.  How was I supposed to work with children and communicate with them? During the time I spent here and did activities, I realized that is not important to know a lot of Romanian as they are just children and what they need is just love, peace, compassion .

I had many new experiences, until now.

For example, we went to  the picnic with children from the social center. I didn’t have such a responsibility before but when we went there I took care that the children would eat, I watched them while swimming and many other things. I think it’s a big deal for me ! I learned many things such as that you can communicate with the people, especially children, even if you can’t speak  their language; you can make them happy.

Even though  it just been 2 weeks since we arrived, we already visited some places close to Piatra Neamt. The first week we went to Iaşi and we visited some touristic places as the Botanical Garden and the  Palace of Culture in Iaşi.We shopped some stuff in Palace Mall as well .The prices in there were almost the same as in Turkish shopping centers.

During the second week, we had a small trip to Targu Neamt. Targu Neamt is a  small city like Piatra Neamt  and there we visited the Neamt Citadel, a medieval fortress, that was used even between the battles between ottomans and Stefan the Great.

I took lots of pictures. If you will visit Romania you should visit that place.

I must say that I’m very happy to be here.
